An Invitation Awaits You

I love my stomping ground. Alberta was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta and I do believe that this province is a little like royalty; she shines.

My girlfriend came home from East Africa and commented on our sunsets. She soaked in every moment of the beauty of Tanzania, but driving up her gravel road to turn into their farmyard, she knew she was home and knew it was beautiful! Why do we have to travel across the world to be reminded of how pretty our homeland is?

Come, let's go on a little road trip of my province. I'll pack cinnamon buns and cold tea in the car and we'll drive with the window down. You'll realize why my heart belongs here.

Now, all you lurkers out there, tell me where your from! What's unique to your province/state/town/yard? Tell me of the beauty out your window right now. The Gypsy Mama has a national delurker day (or something like that..) it's a day when all the bloggy spies step out of their box and leave a comment! I think it's a grand old plan, because I'd be ever so happy to hear where you're from. I'd love to meet you.

Welcome to Alberta!

***Special thanks to fellow Canuck and kindred spirit at  R(etired)N for sharing this video in the first place. I love everything you share!

Not exactly a lurker, but I love Alberta too- I lived there in the foothills for many years before moving back to my home province of B.C. and the beautiful Creston valley. I love it her for the mild winters, beautiful mountains nearby, and the lush vegetation.

My home is in northern California, another beautiful place with access to every conceivable type of geography: mountains, forests, foothills, plains, desert, ocean, bayfront, lakes alpine and manmade, dams, swampland... It's all here except a glacier and the Amazon Basin.

Lurker sounds scary. I'm not, but do enjoy your blog. I'm from the borderlands, down south that is. We ranch on the New Mexico/Mexico border and although we do not have the lucious beauty you do, there is beauty to be found in the desert too. ;)

oooh, this video is incredible!!!.. what gorgeous country! I always say we don't appreciate enough the beauty of this diverse country.

What I'm looking at right now are a stand of pine trees with fragrant needles on the ground and an old stone wall that boarders it. A soft rain falls on the greening grass as Spring arrives early.

You've inspired me. I now have a fun little project to work on involving my home, my camera, and my life.

If all goes well I'll blog it.
Thanks

Excellent video, specially the first part filmed in Dorothy right by my house :) Even if I am really from Finnegan. It is true how we sometimes dont realize what we have till we leave.

I loved the video of your beautiful province, and I am a fellow Canuck too, from Ontario. I have had the opportunity to visit Alberta for several weeks many years ago and we plan to visit again in the future. We have family in Brooks, Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer.

uh-huh. Born and raised there.
Now my home consists of only paved roads, smog tests, palm trees, calla lilys, 'bird-of-paradise' plants, and sunshine. :)
California...
but deep down, ALBERTA ♥

Oh I loved this! I can't wait to visit Alberta someday...

You know I'm from Arizona and of course I love all the different climates we have from the cactus pricked deserts to the ponderosa pine forests and snow capped peaks. And I of course am biased but we have the prettiest sunsets here :)
