To Give

I feel as awkward writing this post as I did on my first day of Junior High, I'm just more comfortable that my Secret deodorant actually works.

Blogging isn't something that comes easily. Throwing myself out there for the world to read my thoughts gives me a little bit of the heeby jeebies, but it's good to record bits of life, isn't it? I have stacks of journals from years of thoughts needing to flow out onto paper, but mercy, throwing it out there for Phoenix and Manitoba to read is about as comfortable as seeing someone asked if they are pregnant when they aren't.

For the past week I've thought, "Tonight I'm going to blog!" The same old self doubt rolls around, that I don't have anything to say, gosh, we all know I'm not a photo lady, and why in hog city would anyone want to read what I have to say? I remembered no one is forced to read and for Friday night's sake, this is a blog, I'm not solving world peace.

I'm gonna (I mean going to, Auntie P) get my groove back, I've gotta get this blog on...and if ya'll have any suggestions of things you would like to hear about, let me know! I'm hoping if I can spit out some sort of post tonight, it's just going to come back to me. I've got the usual to share- projects, recipes, senseless drivel, and stories about my family-don't say I didn't warn ya.

For tonight, I want to direct your attention to an amazing couple from the East Coast. Allen and Violet Large won 11.2 million dollars and gave it away.
Allen and Violet Large, seen in this image taken from video, have decide to donate almost $11.2 million in lottery winnings.
Please check out this video to hear about their generosity. These folks give my spirit a boost in so many ways. This couple renews my faith in the spirit of charity and reminds me that benevolence can make your own heart grin, helping your body to follow. Violet is undergoing chemotherapy and if you listen to the video Allen tells you it has reminded them of what is really important-relationships. They have one another. Violet tells us how good it feels to give.

We might not have 11.2 million dollars to give away, but friends, a giving heart is something we can all benefit from, it will give us joy and a calm.

You're a good writer and that coupled with your good heart is what we all need to read. I've always been a little sad you didn't post more often because you are one of not too many that I would really like to hear about: your life as a new mom (and maybe remember my own new mom days), your take on things (and be reminded of the good in life), and your humour ( I still laugh about your gypsies and clown day). Just be like a few of us and don't let the neighbors know your doing it, and keep everyone else in the dark about your real identity : )

I love the new blog look! It is perfect for Little Prairie Baby. I also love your posts and you putting yourself "out there". Thanks for sharing the video. It gives me hope for the world in this upside down world that we are living in. I for one sure hope that you continue posting. Have a great weekend. Hugs...

I love reading your blog. A person just has to forget than anyone else will read it, and just write it for yourself.

We are the least interesting to ourselves....
We hear so much negativity on the news that when we hear stories like this one, it's a nice reminder that the world isn't all bad. God bless their loving souls! And yours too.

I often don't have anything to say, and I don't really take a lot of pictures when I'm home.

Thanks for sharing this with us, and sharing your time with us.

Good to hear from you. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Well, I'd been pretty much yattering to myself for 5 years, until you showed up and left a comment :) Which made my day btw.

So glad you decided to post again. I loved the clown and gypsies story too!

Would love to read more about your life out there on the prairie. I often think of you out there living in all that wide open space.

I'd also like to read about the photo at the bottom of this page. The one with all the kids and ponies. That would be my dream childhood!

Keep posting!

Polly

I TOTALLY know how you feel! I feel so much pressure to be funny in every blog post that when I sit down to write, if I don't think it's funny I won't write it.

But I'm trying harder and I hope you will too, because I love reading what you write! It makes me feel like I know you.

:-) I love reading your blog! I love reading about where you live... pictures are not necessary, but a definite bonus. (Go to my blog and look at some of my first posts. The pics are terrible!!! ) Also, I love reading about your family's history, and how you treasure it. And, isn't it cool--if neither one of us blogged, we'd never know about each other, until we met in heaven someday. That is my very favorite thing about blogging. :-) Keep blogging confidently--blog for yourself first, then your readers. Every time I make the conscience decision to do that, I am rewarded in some unique way. (Love the story of that couple, so amazing.)
