Muck Boot Give Away!

A post written in the spring, a few years ago, generated a bit of interest on my blog. It wasn't a mouth watering recipe, some crafty photos, or yapping about everyday life. It was a post about Muck boots.  Yes, the warm, dry feet kind of boots. A thing worthy of a post in itself, let's take a gander at that ol' post, shall we? This time we are throwing a give away in at the bottom, read on, dear ladies.

Ladies, let's talk boots.

I bet you're enthused, sitting there with your cup of coffee, thinking I'm going to chat fashion with you. You're thinking about those Frye boots or a nice pair of Lucheese that you've been wanting.

I'm here to tell you about a whole new realm in fashion.
Hollywood here thinks she would like to chat about boots. Do you see the reflection of white in her sun goggles? The fact that the goggles were busted out is proof that that white won't last too much longer.
Kids from the prairies are part mud.  You probably didn't grow up here if you haven't had your gum boot fall off , trudging through that ooze, and  kept on going in your sock feet because your feet  were so cold in springtime weather.

We still have feet of snow on the ground, but it won't be long 'till we are swimming in sludge. A big ol' nasty, mire of nothing but pure dirty, that makes a grown man grin as he digs trenches in the lane. That huge ball of fire in the sky is packing heat on, some of these afternoons, and my little girl has discovered the joy of puddles. Trucks are filthy, the farmers in the coffee shop are grinning, and gophers are running around on top of the snow. We are busting out the Muck boots.

I mentioned Muck boots in a previous post and I received an email from a lady thinking it was funny that us Albertan's call our gum boots Muck boots. Girls, we don't just call em Muck boots-they are an actual brand of insulated rubber boots here that are meant to keep your feet warm and dry all year long. They are a thing of beauty.  Pair them with a dirty ol' Carhartt coat and you're Redneck stylin'. I love these bad boys so much that I'm writing a whole post on these blessed chore boots.

Back in the day there weren't such luxuries as these treasures. Ranchers would wade out in the sludge to check calves and come in with stained socks much to their wive's dismay. I'm sure no one really minded that much; you're just thrilled Spring arrived here.

One of my favorite famed 'muddy' stories in the family took place right where my folks live now. It was my Great Grandpa's place many moons ago, the legendary hero we all called Pappa. Years ago, when Charolais bulls were relatively new to Canada, these big beasts got out and were heading to get in with the heifers. My dad was out with Pappa in the barnyard soup when Pappa started hollering to beat the band at my Uncle, at the top of the pasture, to cut the bulls off. With all the bellowing Pappa's teeth flew out of his mouth and landed right in the slop and manure. Losing his teeth paused the hollering, but Pappa just gave those teeth a quick wipe, popped them back in his mouth and commenced whooping. Only in Alberta- we don't let the mud and manure get in the way!

*******************************************************

Now, lucky for you goof troops, this post will lead to one of my readers, in the USA or Canada,  receiving a pair of Muck chore boots, delivered to your door, to fit your feet. I was so pumped about this give away. There may or may not be a neighbour lady who has shown up at my door step with a pair of rubber boots, that were both of the right foot, one being size seven and one being size nine. I'm secretly pulling for her, because who could use a pair of chore boots more than this lady.

This is where it seems some of  you seem to get a little muddled. Somehow in the part where you read the words, and then in your panic on trying to figure out how to enter the fool contest, I lose y'all.  If you have trouble, please e-mail me at littleprairiebaby@gmail.com, and I will only laugh at you a little. No, I'm just kidding, I won't laugh, but I will drag your sorry self through the process step by step and show you how to make yourself eligible.

There is only ONE MANDATORY way to enter yourself, visit the Muck boot website, peruse around, come back here, leave a comment and tell me where these boots would get worn.

For THREE ADDITIONAL entries (this being four separate entries in total) please leave an ADDITIONAL COMMENT FOR EACH ENTRY. (I don't make blog contest rules, I just follow them.)

-"like" Muck boots on FB-tell them Cheyenne with Little Prairie Baby sent you leave a separate comment letting me know.
-Pin this to win this! Slap a photo on Pinterest and leave a separate comment to tell me.
-Blog, tweet, or FB about this contest--and guess what? Tell me about it, in a separate comment!

Good luck! Contest closes Friday, September 21 at 9:00AM, bloggy time. (Thanks Linda, for reminding me what month it is!)

Best of luck, Auntie Sue!

Oh how I love a good contest! Muck boots are the best, I bought them for my husband last Christmas. Looking at the website I can see at least 3 styles I'd love to have- the riding boot, the daily shoe (colour options!!)and the scrub boot- all three would get a lot of use around here.Doing chores in the morning we have as lot of dew in the non frozen months, -the scrub boot. During the day, I need something to slip on to do yard work or top up horse water- the daily shoe. And riding in winter or doing winter chores- the equestrian boot. I think I'll have to make a Christmas wish list!

I headed over to their FB site and "liked"; they have a photo of someone riding in the Pacy boot- I like that one too!
Thanks for doing this contest!

I love Muck boots! We wear the "garden" type Muck boots to the chicken houses. We just bought some cows yesterday, so we'll need some more for them! :)

Muck Boots look great! I would love a pair of tall rubbers to wear on the farm, but my kiddos are always growing and it would be swell to get my 6yo daughter a pair she could use next spring.

Great giveaway! I could use the outdoor casual black/hot pink and the Chore, Mid :)

Wow, what an appropriate name for boots. I've never heard of them before but I'd love a pair of the new equestrian high boots. They look fashionable enough to wear out. I need a pair "to muck" around in our new orchard this spring. Thanks for the great giveaway.

Oh my! Here I call those wellies, and the Women's Wetland ones look awesome. Those shoes are definitely fashionable here in Texas!

Have a great day!

Love them but to be fair, working in town doesn't really give me a need for them so good luck to the rest!

Seriously? Muck boots are SO awesome. I love the Hi-Muckmasters. I would wear them everywhere and cherish them dearly, all winter long. Especially since I'm moving to Minnesota now, and winter is a bit more winter-ish there than it is here in western WA. Awesome giveaway girlie!! :-)

Oh Chey, I can't turn down a good contest!! I perused the Muck site, and my goodness, those extreme conditions sport boots look positively delightful. Shoveling snow and walking the dog in minus kajillion would finally be tolerable! But let's be honest... I'm pretty sure I'd also wear them inside. I think they would complete my aproned look, no? Especially those hot pink ones! HELLO FASHION STATEMENT!

You're speaking my language -- Muck boots. I went to the website and didn't realize they had a wellie ranch (western) boot. I like that. The colorful Arctic boots look good too and I know they are warm.

If I had a pair of new Mucks, they'd be working hard in the sheep barn this winter, they'd be trudging through snow and in the spring they'd be slipping through the mud and muck.

Cool! But, to be honest, we don't have a need for those. I mean on occasion it rains some gully washers, but for the most part, muck boots would sit around and look pretty. ;)

Hope someone wins that needs them horribly bad!! :)

Ok looked around thier site and since I already have and love the riding boots, I am thinking the wellie ranch would be a great all around type boot to have.

Crystal said...

and I like them on face book too, already did before does that count ;)

Well I may be missing the point here but I'd choose the Pacy Riding boots for my daughter :)

I have bogs, but I purused the website anyways...those wellie classics are a sweet looking pair of boots. I could definately wear those bad boys. I also love the Woody-Ex pro, 'cuz I love me some camo; the equestrian insprired women's boot and the women's winter boot. Basically, I love them all! If I was being unselfish, I'd get some for my 17 yr. old nephew who just moved in with us from BC. He has yet to experience an Alberta winter, and we told him he needs some of the Artic Pro steel toe boots for work!

I pinned them too!

I would LOVE a pair of Muck Boots- just the chore boots- mid hi because I am so short! My hubby and son each have a pair- my son wears them EVERYWHERE! He even snuck them in his backpack a few days after he had got them, but it worked out, because that day, just before the bus pulled up, we got flooded and the water came up over the road between the bus stop and our house. So, the hero that he is, he whipped those Muck Boots right out of his backpack and safely carried his little sisters across the few inches of water. :)

I really like the chore boots. We run a small farm in central Texas, and they sure would come in handy this winter with all the mud that a farm makes.

My husband has had a pair of muckboots for years, and loves them! He actually wears them for winter boots too. If I was to win a pair, I think I'd either like the shoe type ones for gardening, or some regular boot type ones that I could wander around exploring with the kidlets!

I would wear them around outside. The place where we live is an old farm and I've ruined many pairs of shoes since living here especially in the garden. If it rains it gets real swampy and mucky in certain areas. They would be great for when we go shore fishing too.
